Quin is a Labrador/Retriever puppy just 11 days old. As soon as he is old enough to leave his mother he will come to live with Gillian and Tony Bane in Little Eversden. Quin is no ordinary pet. He is about to embark on an adventure that may make him a celebrity, a fully-qualified Guide Dog for the Blind.

Gillian and Tony are volunteer Puppy Walkers. It will be their job to get Quin ready, in about a year, for his Guide Dog Trainer. It's intensive work, time-consuming, and demanding of commitment - and a lot of love.

Quin (and Tony and Gillian) will have a Supervisor, Leigh. She will make weekly visits. Progress will be carefully monitored and recorded. We can follow Quin's adventure here. Gillian is going to send regular reports and pictures so that we can watch him grow into his part.

Tony and Gillian are joint secretary of the Cambridge and District Guide Dogs for the Blind. This is their first attempt at Puppy Walking. They start out with our best wishes and our thanks for sharing their year with us.
