Quin's Quest (and Irwin)                 Back to Quin's Quest

Quin was doing great work with his trainer, Heath, in the last report(April 2010 Click).

Gillian reports (20th August 2010):

"Quin is in the last stage of his training. He has almost certainly been allocated his visually impaired person. All we know of him is that he is a young man who is their top priority because he has been waiting for “the right dog” for ages. They cannot say absolutely definitely because something could go wrong during the acclimatisation process and they may fail to get on together. But that seems very unlikely.

So Quin could be a working dog by the beginning of October. How proud we will be then!

We are going to visit him for the final time next week so will report back then, with lots of photos! (of us crying!)

He has done brilliantly. He had no trouble with any of his training. Everyone loves him. He is an absolute star."

Irwin (with Billy)

Irwin had THE SNIP today (20th August 2010). He was supposed to have had it last week but managed to steal some of Billy's food, so the operation had to be delayed - little horror!

He is getting on really well. He is a very quick learner with bundles of energy and enthusiasm. He is very different from Quin but just as loveable. Nothing fazes him. He went to his first disco the other night - lots of loud noise and flashing lights. He couldn’t see what all the fuss was about and went to sleep

As you can see from the photo he has grown into a very handsome young man. (G and T)
