This time the repair cafe is being run in conjunction with Haslingfield and will be at Haslingfield Village Hall.

How does a Repair Café work? If you have items that need mending, bring them along to our Repair Café. A free event where you can learn a little about your broken item while a volunteer repairer assesses it and, where possible, does a fix while you watch how it’s done! Note: if it needs a repair beyond our abilities we will refer you to a local repair business.

Items that can be repaired are: bicycles, textiles, clothes, knitwear, other knitted items, toys (e.g. soft, plastic, electric & mechanical), small appliances, small electrical items, tools, and general repairs to broken items.

Repairs are free but we ask you to book a place in advance and to tell us a little about what you’ll be bringing. Donations are welcome to cover our running costs (£££) and any surplus will go to our village hall towards essential maintenance work.

This is to ensure we have a repairer available to assess your item and any parts that are needed for the repair. If there’s a lot of interest in the event, you may have to wait a bit.

If a repair slot is offered it will only be held for 48 hours. This is due to non responders and to ensure the booking system is fair to all.

Please add the repair café e-mail address to your contacts list eversdenrc@gmail.com and check your email spam folder regularly – we need you to confirm you want an offered booking within 48 hours.

Note: if it needs a repair beyond our abilities we will refer you to a local repair business.

Items that can be repaired are: bikes, textiles, lampshades, clothes, all types of toys, small appliances, small electrical items including phones, furniture & other wooden items. We have a repairer that specialises in teddy bear repairs – if your antique or new teddy bear, or doll needs a mend bring it along.

Repairs are free but we ask you to book a place in advance and to tell us a little about what you’ll be bringing. Donations are welcome and will go towards the work to improve the village hall car park. You can book an item in via the online booking form here.
