How does a Repair Café work? If you have items that need mending bring them along to our Repair Café. A free event where you can learn a little about your broken item while a volunteer repairer assess it and, where possible, does a fix while you watch how it’s done! Note: if it needs a repair beyond our abilities we will refer you to a local repair business.

We are now taking online bookings for items you would like to have repaired at the Repair Café.

We can repair: bikes, textiles, lampshades, clothes, soft toys, small appliances, small electrical items (no phones or tablets), jewellery, furniture & other wooden items.

We’ll also be running a computer clinic – bring your phone, tablet, or computer and we’ll help you with your IT issues.

Repairs are free but we ask you to book a place in advance and to tell us a little about what you’ll be bringing. You can book an item in via this link: Repair Cafe booking form. This is to make sure we have a repairer available to assess your item and any parts that are needed for the repair. If there’s a lot of interest in the event, you may have to wait a bit.

This year will have a bee  theme and we’ll be launching the idea of “Blooming Eversden”. We hope to get a colour themed display of blooms throughout the village in the summer months and as the theme is bees we ask that if you’d like to get involved you plant yellow and white flowers (some blue may also make a nice contrast).

We’ll be giving away free sunflower seedlings at the spring fair and there’ll be a seed/seedling swap station too. Get the children involved and plant your own sunflowers  at the café too.

Other bee themed activities will be available at the café such as children’s crafts, games and information from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. We’d be very interested to hear from the beekeepers in the village too as their presence and expertise would be welcomed.

We’ll also have stalls and the usual café.

Donations of cakes for the café are always welcome

The Village Hall in conjunction with Café Creative will be hosting our first Apple Day event on Saturday 20^th October 2018 from 10am to 1pm at the Village Hall, 4 Chapel Road, Great Eversden, CB23 1HP

There will be lots of apple based treats and activities including hot mulled apple juice, mulled cider, apple identification, apple juicing, apple crafts and storytelling courtesy of Vital Spark Theatre. There will also be some delicious apple bakes on offer. We’ll have pulled pork and apple sauce rolls & veggie burgers available at lunch time. This will be a great event for all ages so please do pop down and join the fun!

Apple juicing: Bring your apples and have them turned into tasty juice. Remember to bring a sterilised container to take it home. If you don’t have apples pick some at the Everden’s Community Orchard.

Apple identification: Bring 2-3 apples with leaf & stalk & leave in the apple crèche for experts to identify

Eversden Villages Yard Sale and Scarecrow Festival on Saturday 8th September 10am – 1pm

People of the Eversdens are opening up their front gardens to have a village Yard Sale. Book your pitch for the Eversden Villages Yard Sale/let us know if you are entering the Scarecrow competition ASAP. Maps showing pitch locations and the Scarecrows are being printed soon – don’t miss out!

The stalls will be in front gardens throughout Little and Great Eversden selling anything you would expect at a carboot sale and much more e.g. cakes, crafts, clothes, fruit & vegetables, furniture, homewares, jewelry, toys & plants.

Pitches are £5. Set up a stall in your front garden, if you don’t have a table you can use a rug, sheet or the boot of your car to display items. You can sell anything you would sell at a carboot sale all from your front door.

The sale starts at Great Eversden Village Hall (4 Chapel Road, Great Eversden, Cambridge, CB23 1HP) where you can get a map of the stalls & our Scarecrow competition entries. Refreshments will be on sale at Cafe Creative from 10am to noon. Stalls open 10am to 1pm.

Enter the Scarecrow competition. The theme is up to you & the winner gets a trophy!
