GREAT AND LITTLE EVERSDEN PARISH COUNCIL

A planning meeting of the Parish Council was held in the Pavilion on Tuesday 7th May 2013 at 8:30 pm.

Apologies: Mrs Pritchard

Present: Mr Dinsdale, Mrs Handley, Mr Huddleston, Ms O᾿Callaghan, Mrs Glasse, Mrs Spencer, Mr Tebbit, Mr White and, in the Chair, Mr Dalton.

To consider proposal from Mr & Mrs Beresford regarding land next to and behind No. 40 High Street, Great Eversden:

The Chair informed the meeting that the land to be discussed was outside the Village envelope and would need to be pursued with SCDC.   He then handed over to Mr Beresford.

Chris How, Samskara Architects, spoke on behalf of Mr Beresford.  Initially there had not been a plan to develop the land but simply grazing alpacas.  It had become evident, however, that in order to look after them properly, a dwelling was needed to be near the animals.  Mr How indicated that it would be in line with the existing development and provide a 'corner stop'.  The plan was for the same size as the two of the current semi detached properties, with the addition of a back extension to form the 'L' shape.    This would however not impinge on any light to existing properties.

The Parish Council, on the information initially provided to the Clerk, questioned that the land was too wet.  After some explanation it became apparent that in trying to clear the land, Mr Beresford had actually caused the land to become water-logged.   Mr How went on to say that a full land and drainage survey would be undertaken and full access would be given to Anglian Water.

Mr How and Mr Beresford indicated that any future plans for outbuildings would be made under a separate application.

The Parish Council thanked Mr How and Mr Beresford for their time and said that as and when the application came before the Council they would be fully informed.

Planning Application:

S/0793/13/FL  No. 22 High Street, Great Eversden.    Erection of an outbuilding.            Approved.

Following the Planning items, Paul Tebbit asked for an ad hoc discussion on the A603 given the recent Fatality.  Mr Dinsdale said that he had spoken to a member of the Collision Investigation Team earlier in the day and had obtained a card from the Police Officer giving details of his email.  Mr Dinsdale will e-mail the Officer as he is involved in a meeting next week with Karen Lunn's replacement.

The PC will continue to make enquiries.  If no response was received by the 20th May meeting a speed limit reduction would be discussed as a first step.
