Matters arising from the Minutes
1 Nixon's Hall Tablet. Nothing further to report.
Land Registration of Parish Property. This is in the hands of the solicitors.
Hedges at 2 and 11 Wheeler's Way It is understood that the District Council has done some clearing in the back garden of No 2, and will be asked to deal with the hedge also. Nothing to report on No. 11.
Road at St Helen's Transfer. This is in the hands of the solicitors.
Allotment Organisation. In the absence of Mrs Hobbs, Mrs Pritchard reported that a meeting had been attended by 10 people, most of those who had expressed an interest. They were enthusiastic and had agreed to help clear the plots. They had already started work, but it was accepted that it will probably be a year before the ground can be fully prepared. In the meantime one plot will be divided between the members of the working party, so that they can make a small-scale start on growing. Thanks were expressed to Mrs Hobbs for all the work she had done to initiate the project. Mr Duncan Rayner had also volunteered to organise working parties.
Standing Orders It had not been possible to arrange a further meeting on this.
Village Plan Mr White reported that 150 responses had been received from the 329 distributed.
Information FOI compulsory model and template had been received. It was agreed that the Chairman and Mr White would fill in the template.
Trust Fund proposed by Mr David Ellis. Nothing further to report yet.
2. Little Eversden Parish Meeting. A draft of the minutes will be placed on the Eversden web-site. The present practice of reading the minutes for confirmation at the next Annual Meeting will be continued
3. Village of the Year. Entering the Calor Gas Competition. Mrs Pritchard and the Chairman agreed to study the correspondence and fill in the relevant form. They will report back to the next meeting.
4. Twinning with village of Poses near Rouen: Comberton had been very successful with Le Vaudreuil for more than a decade and had invited the Eversdens to join in with them. Now Poses was wanting a twinning partner and the Eversdens had been suggested. Chairman has reservations feeling that Poses is twice the size of the Eversdens and that Eversdens might be too small to support a twinning properly. Mrs Pritchard agreed to discuss the matter further with Comberton to see if joining with them might be more practical.
5. Low Close. Condition 14 and entrances. Complaints had been received that there were no fences at either end of the site as required by the Planning Condition. Cl. Heazell reported that the fence design would be approved by the Planning Committee on 22nd April.
6. Police Liaison Meeting. This will be held on 22nd April at 7.30pm at Gamlingay Middle School.
7. Finance The following cheques paid
Printing of Village plan questionnaire £1081.00 LGA 72 s142
Photocopying £14.96 LGA 76 s133
8. Planning.
Gates at Hill House Farm. Cl. Heazell reported that a compromise had been reached at a meeting held that morning. The wall has been agreed, but a hedge must be planted in front of it. The material used for the wall, the wood for the gate and the plants for the hedge must all be approved by the Planning Committee.
Cl. Heazell also reported that there would be a site meeting at 21 Harlton Road attended by the full Planning Committee to consider the application. The neighbours had agreed to grant access to their houses.
9 Correspondence. In circulation.
10 Reports from Councillors
Cl Mrs Heazell reported that the Council Tax had been reduced from 4.9% to 4.5%, but they were still going ahead with the 'Aid to Businesses' plan.
Cl. Kindersley reported that the Police Liaison Panel had been a great success and that the Police were now focussing on matters of concern to villages.
He also reported on the ending of Day-care services at Home Meadow, Toft. This had been decided with little consultation and would be serious loss to patients and carers.
He warned of major traffic problems for local road traffic during the Cereal 2009 event to be held at Shingay cum Wendy on June 10/11.
11. Mrs Pritchard then asked about bus services. Agreed the Chairman would write to Sir Brian Briscoe emphasising the importance of reliable public transport to a successful operation of congestion charging. Also that he would write to Mr Paul Nelson at the County Council Transport department expressing our concern at the unreliability of Service 75 and the uncertainty surrounding Services 18, 18a,18b etc.
