Website Report Spring 2009 Tail Corn Reports
The Village Website – progress report April 2009 A phantom visitor to the website from Spain last week turned out to be me. (Just a quick check to make sure it was still there.) The Statcounter placed me in Madrid which was a few hundred miles and a short flight awry – but the right country.
The visitor-count topped 50,000 in April. I dare say the 40 or so a day who call in are very likely largely the same 40. It is pleasing that so many local people have made The Eversdens their Home Page. A good number still visit from far away – Oz of course, Canada, America, New Zealand, and, last week, the Czech Republic. Some of those make us their Home!
Quin’s exploits are well-visited at the moment. He features on this (Tail Corn) edition’s cover as well. His paws could get too big for his boots with all this acclaim.
I await with interest the outcome of the Parish Plan Questionnaire with regard to both the website and Tail Corn. A 50% return seemed disappointing to me at first but I have recently heard from an executive of Local Government that 50% is pretty good – and even a 5% percent return gives statistically significant indicators. She also said many villages manage only 25% or less. Perhaps there will be a full report out in time for the next issue.
Meanwhile, I am always happy to receive constructive suggestions. Sooner or later I have to leave FrontPage. I have decided to move on to Expressionweb 2. (It’s a lot cheaper than its competitors especially when bought from Software4Students). If by chance there is an expert in Expressionweb 2 in the villages, I would be very pleased to have a chat.
