It must have looked the perfect spot for a settlement. Nevertheless, our cautious forbears forsook the banks of this tranquil brook and settled on the gentle rise. A good job! I took the first few pictures in Summer 2008. David Ellis took the next batch from his side of Bourn Brook on the 10th February 2009. Numbers 19 - 22 were taken on the 11th from Paul Tebbit's meadow. The brook had overflowed into the meadow but by then had already dropped by a metre. Number 23 shows David Ellis's concrete path alongside his wood in November 2008 (click) and numbers 24 to 26 on the 10th February 2009. As I publish this selection, a few more snowflakes drift past the window (3 pm on the 12th February).
