PROPOSED TELEPHONE MAST OFF THE MARE WAY, LITTLE EVERSDEN

I am sure you are all aware that, since March 2003, we have been opposing the installation of an Orange mobile phone mast in Little Eversden. This just a short open letter to thank all of those in the village who have been helping us with the fight and to say that the exchange of correspondence with various official bodies continues. Our protest is not just with the mobile phone company involved but is also lodged with government organisations, lawyers, and Members of Parliament.

The mast has not gone up and we are using every possible tactic to ensure that it does not go up. As many of you will have seen in newspaper and television features, concern about mobile phones and masts is growing, with an increasing amount of scientific evidence suggesting that the emissions from mobile phone masts may affect people's health. All we are asking is that the "Precautionary Principle" is upheld:that we understand there is a need for masts but that they should be sited well away from schools and houses.

If anyone has any questions about this ongoing campaign or wishes to lend their support, please phone me on 01223 262147.
