The Village Website                   David Farnell                            Back to Contents

From this page you can find out how and why The Eversdens website started back in 2000. The original "mission statements" are reproduced here (click headings below). They still stand.

My part in the venture began in 2005 (see Growth). Since then the website has rather taken me over. I have tried to get a progress report into each issue of Tail Corn and I include these for anyone who may wish to read them.

I have explained in the reports a bit about how the site is constructed - and also how big a piece of my life it has become.

Now and again I receive welcome favourable comments about the site - seldom any constructive criticism. I tend to make my own rules. The site's shortcomings therefore are all mine. I do have some plans. I think the many links to shops and other commercial services are no longer necessary in the light of surfers' familiarity with Google. One day, I will need to assemble the many web spaces into one big space - a major job. Meanwhile, I continue snapping and accumulating this archive of village life and landscapes - 21st century style.   Click for major (almost invisible) changes to www.the-eversdens.co.uk November 2009
