Robert Lloyd Parry - The Nunkie Theatre Company - 2006 - brought A Pleasing Terror to St Mary's in Great Eversden. The event was in aid of the Friends of Eversden Churches and raised exactly £1000. Local and distant people gathered for this opportunity to catch this show which is currently touring the country (click). The church was packed. Robert, as M R James, held the audience spellbound. The setting, subtly lit inside and outside the church, was perfect. The village was again treated to a virtuoso performance fit for the world stage. Follow these links for news and views: BBC Cambridgeshire, The Fizwilliam performance; The Buxton Festival performance. A Pleasing Terror is being performed during October alone in no fewer than twelve locations as widespread as Falmouth, Cardiff, and The Lantern Theatre in Sheffield . Somehow Robert squeezed in a performance in St Mary's. And coming up - a twenty-night run at The New End Theatre in Hampstead over Christmas! For more information (including times of other local performances) and to keep in touch with the Nunkie Theatre Company, visit the website from this page or from Local Businesses. |
