A Secret Place           Back to The Eversdens Scene Index     (Some of the pictures may take about 15 seconds to load first time.)

A lake, a forest, a reservoir - all in The Eversdens. You may remember the perfect blue sky of 12th November 2008. These pictures caught the solitude of this secret corner, silent but for flutterings and scurryings (and a brief fly-past of three F15 Strike Eagles). Yes, you may visit, too. But you must seek permission first - and no dogs! Where is it? Wait and see.

The trees were set in 1989 as whips of oak, ash, wild cherry, and field maple. Already some trunks are twelve inches through. The reservoir was constructed in 1964. There is a hide for watching the visiting water-fowl. The hide is inaccessible at the moment as briars threaten to take it over. The lake is only seven years old. Nature (with a little help) has softened its edges. These pictures illustrate just one day in the life of this secret place.
