Back
to The
Eversdens Scene Index Work is well-underway on 10 "affordable homes for local people" in Low Close, Little Eversden. The elegant crane catches the eye. I looked for the driver but found him alongside the grab directing its operations with a natty remote control. The crane is depositing mounds of building blocks close to each wall thereby saving many muddy fork-lift truck journeys around the site. The upper stories of the houses are to be clad in attractive black shiplap boarding. As recorded in the Parish Council minutes (1.12.08 and 12.1.09) Mr David Ellis plans to give the bulk of the proceeds from the sale of his Low Close site to the village. Negotiations are in place with the Recreation Ground Committee to set up a Trust, mainly to provide facilities for the youth of the village in the approximate 10-18 age group. It is hoped that the members of the Committee, which has Charity Commission status, will act as trustees and administer the trust. |
