Real rain fell in the afternoon of 31st May - with some hail stones thrown in. The sky cleared in the early evening to show the fields freshened. In time to save the wheat crops? This short stroll is up towards the water towers and then from the wood down Footpath 8 back to Merry's Farm (8.00pm). A convenient modern landmark makes an ideal sighter for the modern farmer who must carve the footpath through his crop each year. (DF)
