With a letter to post, I took the chance to do a circuit of the villages. Follow my route from the letterbox, "round the back", across Wimpole Road, round St Mary's and across the fields to Little Eversden High Street.:  to St Helen's and back to St Mary's. Then it rained. The same places, different season, different weather!
Just a shower. How puny our discomfort compared with the devastation this last week in Cockermouth and the Northwest.
