Click for Lads v Dads 2009 Simon Edgley writes: "This year the game was played to support Charlotte Cox who hopes to compete in the 1st World Games for Athletes with Down Syndrome, in Mexico Charlotte and her parents watched the game and were thrilled with the support.
The end result of the game was 10-7 to the boys.
Goals for the boys Owen Edgley = 1, Jimmy Cousins = 3, Harvey Ashworth =
2, Thomas Walker = 1, Mark Potter =1, Jeremy Harris =1, Own Goal scored
by Ian Walker.
Dad's goal scorers: Ollie Tipple = 5, John Mancer =1,
Kevin Armour = 1.
The men went down to 10 men early in the second half
with the Dad's captain being sent off for two yellow cards. Late in the
second half it came to light the boys manager for the game, John Eaton,
was asking the ref for a substitute and boys were coming on but none
where leaving. At one stage the boys had 14 players on the pitch.
Everyone really enjoyed the day and the boys got
their revenge for the loss they had last year - albeit with the
help of a little
friendly "gamesmanship" !! "
