BBC Radio Cambridgeshire Comes to the Eversdens!                  Back to Eversden Events

It was on Thursday 18th January 2001 that the BBC team descended on the Post Office and General Stores in Great Eversden. For Elaine and John it was business as usual plus the hazards of producers and presenters. The visitors expertly plied their trade, weaving in and out in a mosaic of music, words and humour. First on the air that day was the interviewer, Christopher South. While he concocted his own special brand of humourous banter a very nice Producer, (and may I say good looking!) Louise Dow took digital photographs which were later kindly e-mailed to us for your enjoyment.

It was 2.20pm when I arrived at the shop I met Katie, the other Producer, (and very nice too) who followed Graham Daniels around with a very large clock! No one thought this strange by any stretch of the imagination, after all, we do have our own sprinkling of eccentrics in the twin villages. And we know who they are, don't we? By this time 'Danno', as he is referred to in the trade, was doing his thing! This turned out to be a guessing game with his listeners who had to name the total price of the contents a shopping basket he had selected! Weird or what? At 2.30pm 'Danno' better known as Graham Daniels swept me into the back room where I was interviewed in regard to the Web Site. I explained that the brains of the outfit was at work and he was stuck with me! Disappointed but resigned, Danno, a true professional set me at ease and commenced his interrogation. He was great! Even encourging me to get in a plug for the Eversden Web Site, after all, that is why I was there.

What a bright, kind and happy team they were! It may be simply routine for them but it made us Eversdonians really happy. We thank them very much for their time, care and effort. We had a wonderful day!
