Police and Crime Prevention Back to Local Services

I have failed to keep pace with the regular changes of personnel and organisation of the patch. Please click on the Cambridgeshire Police Website for more up-to-date information. (DF Oct 09)
John and Carly John and Carly came to the Village Coffee Morning on Thursday 8th January 2009. Carly is a local person and is looking forward to meeting and working with Eversden people. (She likes a cup of tea!) 18.2.09 Please note: As the ecops service is available to anyone with email, I will not repeat the ecops letters on this website. To join, click here (Ed.) Click to email |
Carly Freed joined the PCSO team in January 2009. Paul Lancaster joined Carly in May 2009. Our Police Community Support Officers drive in the village at some time nearly every day. They have several villages to look after – so they are often in a hurry. Nevertheless, time spent meeting the people of their villages is considered time well-spent, so why not leave them your phone number to try your house for a cup of tea! Their role is mainly to keep a watchful eye out for anything suspicious. They have been around enough to recognise the clues. “Distraction burglary” is a crime they particularly dislike. They aren’t keen on speedsters, either. In general, though, they just like to be seen around as friends of the village. John Coppard and Ashley Bennett came to the village coffee morning on 10th April 2008 (Click) They met the regulars and, I hope, collected a few invitations to drop in for a cuppa. PCSOs have a standing invitation to come along. They like their faces to be known. At the very least, give them a wave if you see PCSOs driving(or cycling) in the village. They will stop for a minute if they can. Our PCSOs are as close as we get to the old village bobbies. It’s up to us to learn how to use them.
